Learn with Buffalo Niagara Strings

Buffalo Niagara Suzuki Institute

Suzuki in the Schools Level Courses and Enrichment classes are designed to share curriculum, sequences, materials, and strategies to assist any Suzuki teacher in teaching group classes, school classes, and beginning ensembles. The daily course framework includes philosophy, materials, methodology and logistics for use of the Suzuki method in groups and school settings. Each course is designed to expand any teacher’s ability to differentiate instruction towards addressing the needs of all children and all types of learning.

Suzuki in the Schools

The Suzuki Method has achieved unparalleled success in teaching young children to play instruments with ease and skill. The method is based on child centered learning concepts introduced in a positive environment.

The Suzuki method trains students in sequential concept mastery, aural learning, memorization, and finally, the art of emotional expression through music. As a child learns musical skills, they learn vital strategies to be able to master anything they choose.

Mastery for Strings

Mastery for Strings presents a unique, efficient methodology for developing high levels of proficiency in string players in both classroom and private studio settings. Cornerstones of the Mastery for Strings approach: a curriculum design for large heterogeneous string classes, technical skills organized in small, sequential steps, ""how-to"" pages with clear goals, explicit instructions, and recognizable evaluation criteria for each technical skill, a plan for developing problem-solving strategies and self-evaluation skills, and music theory (fingerboard geography) taught without reference to the piano keyboard.
